Marprene is very long lasting compared with many other tubing materials. Long-life tubing means stoppages for a tube change are rare events, easily fitted in with general maintenance.

Marprene has a wide chemical compatibility and is highly resistant to oxidising agents such as ozone, peroxides and hypochlorite.

Marprene is also opaque to both visible and ultra-violet light, and maintains low permeability to gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen.
